 My name is Louise Pell, and I run the aboutmyarea (NG3) for the benefit of the community in that area.
It is part of a national network of postcode community websites dedicated to bringing back the community spirit which seems to have ebbed away in recent years.
The site is a forum for the community to receive news, information, buy, sell and swap items free of charge, announce family celebrations, read articles about all sorts of subjects, and subjects which they can choose to read about by being interactive with the site and having their say, and post and respond to job advertisements. There is a facility for charities to have a forum for their hard work and for local sports clubs and schools to publish their successes. These are all provided free of charge.
There is a business section for small local businesses and the rates for this service have been well researched nationally and are extremely competitive.
However, the emphasis is on the community and visitors to the site are encouraged to join in and take an active role in aboutmyarea:ng3.
